Blue Bay Village

249124_450_300The Blue Bay Village is an Italian-owned resort found in an idyllic location on the Kenyan Coast.

Conical thatched-roof pavilions surround bright blue swimming pools, a short walk from two stunning beaches. The Blue Bay Village website, say that guests can relax in a “suggestive atmosphere.” Staff speak english and Itaian and Watamu is about two hours from the Mombasa airport and about 30 minutes from Malindi Airport.


Local Tip

Even though this is an Italian resort, most of the staff speak very good English.


Accommodation
The Blue Bay Village has 118 rooms, furnished with European furniture and African accents. Standard rooms have one, two, or three beds, and are not air-conditioned. However, they have ceiling fans, mosquito netting, and a verandah. There are air-conditioned standard rooms that have two beds. Deluxe rooms have two or three beds, air-conditioning, a small fridge, and a verandah. There are two air-conditioned suites, which also have a telephone. The Blue Bay suites have wood floors and dining areas.

Restaurants & Bars
The resort has two restaurants. Their menus include African, Italian, and international items. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and beverages are extra. Dine at Blue Bay Village under high thatched roofs (the inside ceilings are wood beams) in a tropical atmosphere.

Facilities
Relax on one of the hotel-provided sunbeds on the sandy beach, or alternatively, there is a freshwater swimming pool if you prefer. Rental cars are available, or the Blue Bay Village can organize tours and safaris for its guests. There is a laundry service, an outside medical service and the resort also has a boutique. A variety of water sports are available, as well as archery, tennis and billiards. For an additional charge, you can snorkel, dive, or ride horses at Malindi. Massages are available for an additional fee.
