The Loisaba Bush Camp in Laikipia, is located on an extensive (61,000-acre) sustainable property that incorporates both natural African bush and a working cattle farm.
This a tented camp and a cottage. With no mobile phone service, extensive views, and lots of opportunities to observe Kenyan wildlife, this is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
Guests can experience nature in the “Star Beds”, watch the scenery from the property’s wood verandahs, or raft down the Ewaso Ngiro or Ng’are Narok River. There is also a spa on-site. There is an airstrip nearby, and guests must travel from Nairobi to Nanyuki. Commercial air service is limited, so please check with the hotel before booking.
Stunning views and you will really enjoy the fresh air and sense of freedom here.
Guests can choose from a number of activities, including game drives in open vehicles, river rafting (when the weather and river levels allow), fishing, horseback riding through the wild terrain (guests must have some experience riding horses), or even an overnight camel safari. Helicopter or balloon tours are also available. Guests can go on walking tours with Samburu guides, or visit a traditional Samburu village.
All of the guides speak English and Kiswahili. Many of the activities are included in the room rate; however, there may be additional conservation fees, and charges for helicopter trips or for exclusive use of a lodge vehicle. The property has a swimming pool, tennis and bocce ball courts, and a croquet lawn. The Loisaba Spa offers health and beauty treatments, including an outdoor bubble bath, for additional charges.
A laundry service is included in the room rate. The hotel is rated for its environmentally friendly practices, and works with local Samburu and Laikipiak Maasai tribes to promote their health and welfare. The lodge has its own generator and power sources; please check with the property for voltage and other information. There is internet access at the Lodge, but mobile phones do not receive a signal on the property.
