Mara Timbo Camp

255849_800_532This secluded and intimate luxury camp is located in the middle of the bush, right next to the Mara River.

The Mara Timbo Camp has only 7 exclusive bush pavilions, and it’s desire to provide privacy and attentive service for all the guests is clear to see. The Camp’s wonderful location on the river’s edge overlooks two large hippo families comprising of around 70 animals. It makes fascinating viewing for guests, and to watch the wallowing hippos in this secluded and very special camp is a memorable experience.
The camp is close to the Oloololo gate (where “Out of Africa” was produced) and the Kichwa Tembo Airstrip.

Local Tip

This is a very small family run business and you will get a very personal service.

Accommodation
Each spacious bush pavilion is roughly 45sqm big, set up on a large platform twice that size. Outside this is a huge secluded terrace under a grass thatched roof. Each luxurious accommodation has a river view bathtub and its own personal butler, to ensure that your stay is comfortable and relaxing. Mara Timbo Camp has a “familiy tent” which has an extra room for up to 4 children, so that parents can be close to their children whilst also enjoying their own privacy during their stay.

Restaurants & Bars
Mara Timbo Camp offers a choice of three different three course meals for lunch and dinner. It really is high class cuisine and to add to the bush experience, dining is always under the open sky with a perfect view (and extraordinary sound) of the nearby hippos. In the evening, meals are served around a romantic fireplace. Additionally Mara Timbo Camp has a cosy lounge with an excellent bar. Tasty cocktails are offered by an attentive and yet unobtrusive bar tender.

Facilities
Relaxing massage is offered in a tree house within the camp. It too, has a view of the nearby hippos and is a wonderful place to relax and let your stresses drift away. Nature walks and bird walks around the camp are offered, as are adventurous night game drives, breathtaking Balloon Safaris and a visit to a Masai Manyatta.
