Kids LOVE this place! If you want to relax and not worry about entertaining your children, this is the place to go!
The Turtle Bay Beach Club is near the Watamu National Marine Park. This large, all-inclusive resort provides meals, theme nights, entertainment, and water sports. There are special activities for children. The resort has won awards for energy conservation. Tipping is included in your rate and is not allowed.
All of the rooms are air-conditioned and the resort’s Superior Club rooms have been recently renovated. Each has a double and a single bed; some are interconnecting, and there are three designed for disabled guests. The sleeping areas are designed to be mosquito-proof. The bathrooms have baths with separate showers (accessible rooms have showers only). Each room has a balcony. The Lamu Rooms are cottage-style, and some have views of the ocean. These have an en-suite bath and shower, a mosquito net, and a ceiling fan (the rooms are air-conditioned). These have twin or a queen-sized bed. Enjoy the view from your patio or terrace. The renovated Ocean Front Rooms have balconies or patios with direct access to the beach. The bathrooms have a bath and shower. There are two Sea-View Suites; each has a lounge as well.
Restaurants & Bars
Included meals are served in the main restaurant, which overlooks the beach and offers buffet service. The restaurant has a non-smoking area. Lunch and snacks are also available at the Snack Bar buffet at the swimming pool. The romantic Blue Turtle Restaurant is available to guests at an extra charge. The Kasaramba Restaurant is a pizzeria with a view of tropical ponds; there is an extra charge for some meals there. There are bars at the pool and at the Kasaramba, and the Dunes Bar on the beach also serves drinks (some require an extra charge). Some of the restaurants have a dress code in the evenings; although it is casual, you cannot wear your swimsuit to dinner! Please see the hotel website for additional information.
Included water sports include windsurfing, boogie boards, and canoes. You can have a free dive lesson in the hotel pool. There are catamarans available, although you must pay a fee and pass a course to use them on your own. (Some lessons require an extra charge.) Tennis and bicycles are included, and the hotel organises beach volley ball and ping pong. A fully supervised club for kids offers entertainment and field trips. Babysitting is available upon request. In addition to the hotel’s Theme Nights, there is nightly entertainment, including African tribal dancers and quiz nights.
We recommend a visit to the Turtle Centre which is very close. Your children will love to see real turtles released into the sea.
