Safety And Embassies

Safety:

Visitors to Kenya must exercise a certain amount of caution and be aware that crime can be a problem if you are not alert and using your common sense. Listen to what you are told, and if you are advised not to go to somewhere or not to do something, then take the advice seriously. Keep car doors locked, and windows closed in built up urban areas, Of course don’t flaunt jewels, gold jewellery and Rolex watches when walking around “down town” Nairobi as quite honestly that will be asking for trouble! Otherwise, in the safari parks and beach resorts of Mombasa there should be no reason to worry about anything. IF, you ever find yourself in a confrontation, remain calm and don’t resist.
Embassies and consulates in Nairobi

Embassies can help with replacing lost, stolen passports (you’ll need to report the theft to the police first) they can help if you get into legal trouble, as long as you are a National of their country!

If you’re visiting another country and need a visa, you can go and get one in person, but be prepared for long queues as there are no hurry in Africa!
