Annual Events

There are many events going on in Kenya throughout the year…. Here are some of the ones we like most:

FEBRUARY

  • Hog Charge.  www.rhinoark.org (Cross country school cycling event in the same style as the Rhino Charge)

MARCH

  • Kenya Open Golf championship
  • Sky Diving Boogie; www.skydivekenya.com

MAY

  • Rhino Charge; www.rhinoark.org (Overland, off road 4×4 race to see who can get from A to B in the shortest distance! Cars go up and down cliffs, through rivers etc. It’s a blast! All proceeds go to conservation efforts to save the rhino.)

JUNE

  • Leywa marathon (June) www.org/lewa_marathon (A tough, high altitude marathon among wildlife in beautiful surroundings)
  • Tusket Safari Sevens; www.safarisevens.com (Rugby event as in the Hong Kong Sevens!)

JULY

  • Kenya triathalon; www.kenyatriathalon.com (Annual event fun to be part of and also to watch)

AUGUST

  • Wildebeast Migration – The date obviously isn’t exact, but it happens around the beginning of August until around the beginning of September
  • International Maralel Camel Derby; lemunyete@wananchi.com (Famous Camel racing competition. It’s a long way to go to watch but well worth the trip)
  • East Africa Motor Show

SEPTEMBER

  • Concour d’Elegance; www.concourskenya.com (Fashion show held in Nairobi)

OCTOBER

  • Driftwood Rugby Sevens; www.kenyarfu.com (Rugby competition held at the coast)
  • Nairobi Marathon

NOVEMBER

  • East African Classic Safari Rally (Held every 2 years (2009/2011/2013/2015) Classic feat of endurance from the rally cars themselves and their drivers)

DECEMBER
